Sheffield Autism Festival 15 to 17 April
The first Sheffield Autism Festival is on from Tuesday 15 April to Thursday 17 April, as part of World Autism Acceptance Month.
There will be many free events and activities at venues near the city centre. It has been set up with Sheffield Hallam University.
The festival aims to empower, support and celebrate Autistic people and improve other people's understanding of autism. It aims to help make Sheffield a more autism friendly city.
Events and activities have been set up for Autistic people, with a quiet room and limited numbers of people. Speaker events will be recorded and put online after the festival.
The festival includes events:
- Learn how to make Sheffield more autism friendly, 15 April
- Autism Experience Bus, 15 to 17 April
- A series of talks delivered by Autistic people and those working with Autistic people
- Art Exhibition, 15 to 17 April
Other activities include nature walks and a gameboard session for Autistic people, led by Autistic people.
